Hull songstress Lisa Dominique, spurred on by outrageously glowing press coverage in the pages of 'Kerrang!', started out fronting her brother Marino's outfit Marino And The Band before going solo, still Marino as guitarist. The 1987 incarnation of the Lisa Dominique Band comprised of Dominique, ex-No Hot Ashes guitarist Ken Heaven, ex White Spirit and Airrace bassist Toby Sadler, ex White Spirit keyboard player Mally Pearson and drummer Dick Glazebrook. The latter was to be replaced ex Deep Switch drummer Simon De Montford later in the year.

At one point in her career Lisa bizarrely announced that she was teaming up with Marino and members of Florida's Power Metal band Savatage in a project titled Certificate X. Such plans never came to fruition and thus Lisa headed for the recording of her debut solo outing, 'Rock n' Roll Lady' with a group comprised of guitarists Ronnie Hales and Marino, bassist Ian Spicer and drummer Mike Meyer.

A backlash, of sorts, came Lisa's way by the time her second album 'Gypsy Rider' emerged, despite being produced by David Prater and a support slot to SAXON on a short tour of Spain in 1990. Despite a continued live presence in 1991 featuring a new band that included ex First Strike and Jagged Edge bassist Billy Kulke and his guitarist brother Mark in the ranks, Dominique married her manager Michael Machet and moved to America.

By 1997 Dominique had returned albeit as a fully fledged vampire! The single 'Vampire Love' witnessed a remix from none other than Boy George.
