With driving guitars that keep chugging along, and a 90’s style chorus that bands such as Bush and Toadies would be jealous of, the Crash Monkeys are back with their next bad-ass single, ‘Aspirin’ releasing via Revolver Records on the 23rd of June!

Kicking off with the lyrics, “I’m gonna get ‘em to find you”, this track deals with the irritation of being inundated by social media’s false prophets and snake oil salesmen pushing the so-called cures of success and fame. There’s a complexity as the track progresses, social media is also compared to a cure for all the pain of finding an audience for your art in years gone by. Lots of false starts, screaming into the void, and hauling gear to tiny venues, which now isn’t necessary as the Crash Monkey’s themselves can connect with their audience everyday online.

Instrumentally, the track’s funky flavour is inspired by one of the band’s favourite drummers, Clyde Stubblefield, and the gritty guitar tone is courtesy of guitarist, Stel’s retro GT Soul-O and Fender BassBreaker amps. ‘Aspirin’ is a classic in the making, a definite must listen rock track of 2023!
