"Less Human," the debut single from KILL II THIS's new album, "Variant," embarks on an exhilarating sonic journey that seamlessly intertwines razor-sharp riffs with highly emotive melodies, offering a visceral and emotionally charged experience. The vocal delivery, characterized by raw emotion and potent hooks, introduces a layer of vulnerability to the aggressive instrumentation, further accentuated by a soaring female opera vocal during the song’s stomping mid-section breakdown.

KILL II THIS's dedication to originality is evident in the unconventional arrangement of 'Less Human,' featuring unexpected twists incorporating synths, samples, and orchestration— aspects that KILL II THIS pioneered before their long hiatus, now brought up to date for 2024. ‘Less Human’ is not just another metal track; it's a sonic odyssey of fresh textures that promises to leave an indelible mark on the modern metal landscape.  

Lyrically, the song delves into the corrosive impact of social media on human empathy, as our lives increasingly revolve around computer screens and phones. Touching on themes of culture wars, tribalism, and fake news, ‘Less Human’ unravels a narrative that dives deep into the shadows cast by the digital age.  We hear only what we want to hear; “The echo chamber roars.”

Recorded during the "Variant" sessions in 2022/23, guitarist Mark Mynett produced, mixed, and mastered the album at Mynetaur Studios in Manchester.
